چکیده

The Zoovch Ovoo uranium roll-front-type deposit is hosted in the Sainshand Formation, a Late Cretaceous siliciclastic reservoir, which constitutes upper part of post-rift infilling Mesozoic East Gobi Basin SE Mongolia. Formation consists unconsolidated medium-grained sand, silt and clay intervals deposited fluvial-lacustrine settings. confined within 60–80 m thick sequence inside aquifer-driven systems. overall system experienced shallow burial was never subjected to temperatures higher than 40 °C. This study proposes comprehensive metallogenic model for this deposit. Sedimentological mineralogical observations from drill core samples microscopic scale (optical Scanning Electron Microscopy) together with situ geochemistry late-formed phases (Laser Ablation–Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry, Probe Microanalysis, Fourier Transform–Infrared Spectroscopy) were considered reconstruction main stages U trapping. In mineralized zone, ore expressed as Ca–enriched uraninite (UO2) less commonly phospho-coffinite (U, P)SiO4. Trapping mechanisms include i) complexation (i.e. uranyl-carboxyl complexes), ii) adsorption on organic or particles) iii) reduction by pyrite bacterial activity amorphous uraninite. all cases, matter plays either role trap nutrient bacteria that can through their metabolism. diagenesis conditions do not allow direct U(VI) carbon. δ34S values iron disulfide are very diverse, fluctuating extreme cases between −50 + 50‰, an average value framboidal at 2‰, −20‰ euhedral pyrite. positive negative reflect close versus open fractionation systems, while sulphate (BSR) active during whole diagenetic history essential source reduced sulfur. Therefore, using detrital carbon source, microorganisms play significant trapping, reducing agent formation, will redox driven epigenetic processes.

Evidence of uranium biomineralization in sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposits, northwestern China

We show evidence that the primary uranium minerals, uraninite and coffinite, from high-grade ore samples (U3O8N0.3%) in the Wuyiyi, Wuyier, and Wuyisan sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposits, Xinjiang, northwestern China were biogenically precipitated and psuedomorphically replace fungi and bacteria. Uranium (VI), which was the sole electron acceptor, was likely to have been enzymically r...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Uranium phosphate biomineralization by fungi.

Geoactive soil fungi were investigated for phosphatase-mediated uranium precipitation during growth on an organic phosphorus source. Aspergillus niger and Paecilomyces javanicus were grown on modified Czapek-Dox medium amended with glycerol 2-phosphate (G2P) as sole P source and uranium nitrate. Both organisms showed reduced growth on uranium-containing media but were able to extensively precip...

Uranium-Series Disequilibria in the Groundwater of the Shihongtan Sandstone-Hosted Uranium Deposit, NW China

Uranium (U) concentration and the activities of 238U, 234U, and 230Th were determined for groundwaters, spring waters, and lake water collected from the Shihongtan sandstone-hosted U ore district and in the surrounding area, NW China. The results show that the groundwaters from the oxidizing aquifer with high dissolved oxygen concentration (O2) and oxidation-reduction potential (Eh) are enriche...
